Although the ancient church of St. Lawrence was replaced over 100 years ago as the main church in Caterham, it still plays an integral part in church life today. It is used for services on a regular basis. The Guild of Friends of St. Lawrence is a voluntary organisation set up to help raise money for the cost of maintaining the ancient church. There are occasional open days and guided tours during the summer.
